She completed a one-year Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the UPMC Montefiore Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine. Before her appointment at UPMC Children's Hospital, she worked as a consultant and faculty at UPMC McKeesport Family Medicine Residency Program where she identified gaps in management of patients with sleep disorders in a primary care setting. Dr. Burman has also been instrumental in disseminating sleep medicine knowledge regionally, nationally, and internationally. She has continually educated many audiences in the field of Adult and Pediatric Sleep Disorders and Obesity Medicine and delivered several talks on those topics. Her research interests include integrated management of pediatric sleep disorders care within a primary care setting, weight management for treatment of sleep disorders, and care for sleep disorders in underserved populations.
